CONGO

Nightspot A L’Elephant du Congo needed to be put on the map for once and for all.  Together with illustrator Francesco Zorzi we created a span-new positioning & branding.

We created an identity based on Congo’s three pillars: the people, the club and the elephant. The idea? Embracing individuality can make for a strong unity. This, in combination with a new positioning, communication strategy, branding and partner program turned Congo into a home base for the city’s young creatives. 

The design was applied from online to offline: from the responsive website & interactive menu to club posters and Congo merchandise. Resulting in a holistic brand with a distinguishing personality.  

 
 
  • As Congo was conveniently based at the creative heart of the city, located next to Amsterdam’s ad agencies & magazine headquarters, we strategically played into their habit of doing afterwork drinks in the neighborhood. And positioned the brand to cater specifically to creatives during their after office hours. By hosting events together with agencies, magazines & artists from the area and by setting up a ‘good neighbor & better friend’ program, we established Congo as the clubhouse for the city's young creatives.

  • To fuel Congo’s position of the local clubhouse for creative individuals, we designed an identity based on Congo’s 3 pillars: the people, the house and the elephant. The idea? Embracing individuality can make for a strong unity.

  • We created & produced the launch campaign ‘Nocturnals’ for Congo. In this content series we photographed nocturnal animals surrealistically placed in bar & club settings, embodying the different types of visitors that Congo welcomes at night.
